Adoption Application

We are glad you are interested in adopting a pet from Save Our Strays. Please understand it is not our intention to make the adoption process cumbersome; it is only to ensure the animals in our care get the best possible match to last a lifetime. Some of the questions are meant to be thought-provoking, with the intention you will thoroughly consider all aspects of welcoming a new animal into your home which could be 20+ years.

Our adoption fee of $65 includes spay or neuter (unless too young or small), rabies vaccine if older than 16 weeks, first distemper vaccine, feline leukemia (FeLV)/ feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) testing and worming.

LD1615 PUBLIC 439 Amendment to Maine State Animal Welfare Laws now requires a cat or dog be spayed or neutered before adoption or a deposit for the amount of the spay/neuter must be collected at the time of the adoption. Please refer to http://janus.state.me.us/legis for more information.
