Mission

Save Our Strays was formed in 2002 to provide additional services to the community that local shelters may not be able to offer due to tight budgets and strained resources.

We believe that the current immense pet overpopulation problem affects everyone. Communities must work together to meet the needs of the animals and the people living within the community.

Save Our Strays is a LOCAL organization. We pay NO wages and all proceeds benefit local animals.

Our mission includes the following:

Spay & Neuter

  • Promote spay and neuter programs
  • Raise funds to support our low-income S&N voucher program

Promote Adoption

  • Promote pets available for adoption through our website, adoption days and satellite adoption locations

Education & Public Policy

  • Counsel callers with pet care concerns through our “hotline”
  • Educate the community on the importance of spay/neuter for companion animals
  • Provide educational materials to the community, schools and organizations
  • Encourage volunteerism for animal issues

Fund Raising and Grant Writing

  • Seek grants to address the overwhelming problems of pet overpopulation
  • Raise money through fundraising events
